Driving home today I had an incident where my radar just kept going off the moment an Audi would pass me. this happened maybe 7 times on my home. The signal varied from 1-5 the whole way unless I passed him(within speed limit), then it would go off. he pass again and it restarts. As he passed he had some kind of computer in his car, could not see much more though. it was unmarked un-badged except for Audi badge,(A5 I believe). Very interesting bit though was some cars would pass him at 10-15 mph over the limit, and "cop" did nothing. He also seemed persistent to stay with me specifically he would either follow behind, and if I let him pass he would then back in and basically almost tempting me to pass him back, was weird. Most interesting bit was flash I felt part of they way. the flash freaked me out a bit, and he was behind. Are cops using unmarked cars and picturing people speeding? just a thought. Interesting bit was I was not speeding when I felt the flash. Anyone else had this happen.

Radar based cruise control.

That could explain the radar but it was night, and speed was around 70 mph above what the system allows you to go I believe.

...wut

70mph above... I've definitely had it around 80-90 no problems, so that's at least... 160?

A few of the new audis have radar going all the time for crash avoidance things. They also, hilariously, chime at you for tailgating. Radar detectors are simply not an option in the S6.

Also, "Felt" a flash? That doesn't make any sense. Drugs or non-native speaker? :D

As for the "computer", probably the infotainment screen. The recent models have it pop up from the top of the dash.

I thought he was originally talking about the self driving system. which I thouhgt only went up to 55. as for felt a flash, meant to say it looked like if someone had taken a picture from my backseat. so there was a flash of light all over the interior and mirrors of my car. I am native speaker, just wrote quickly.

It's not quite self driving, it just keeps doing the radar cruise control even when you stop. Since its following distance is based on speed, it can maintain a good distance behind traffic. I'm not aware of any limitations on speed, since it's still just the cruise control.

My guess for the flash would be bump + the very abrupt cutoff of HID headlights, but I don't know. Maybe Aliens really like audis... :D
